What is Semax?
Developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and registered as a prescription pharmaceutical in the Russian Federation. It holds no UK marketing authorisation and is supplied here as a research compound.
What has been published: BDNF protein measured in rat basal forebrain (PMID 14556513); BDNF and NGF gene expression by brain region (PMID 19662538); and a 110-patient stroke rehabilitation study in Zhurnal Nevrologii i Psikhiatrii, 2018, which was not randomised and not placebo-controlled.
What formats are these supplied in?
Semax in the 5mg vial is freeze-dried and needs making up. The nasal spray arrives in solution.
